What's coming up in November
Click here to view in Browser
Hello!
November is always a great month for remembering, so it won't surprise you to find details of our Community Memorial service on 31st October at 6.30pm (sorry, slightly ahead of November) and Remembrance Sunday (14th November) morning service below.
We're also very excited to be launching a new event for children and young people aged 8 and over: Acting Out.  This will be happening at 4.30pm on Sunday 21st November and you can find out more about it below.  (Our children's service is continuing on 1st Sunday of each month at 10am too - next one on 7th November).
In case you feel your diaries are filling up already, I've included our plans for Christmas, though these could be subject to change depending on how the covid situation develops in the next few weeks.  Aware of the high numbers at the moment we will be continuing to ask those coming into church to continue wearing face coverings and to stream all our services (you'll find them listed below) on facebook live, so please watch us there at your convenience if you don't feel safe coming to church at the moment.  I can provide you with hymnbooks and service sheets if that would help you to take part.
Hoping for a quiet, reflective and safe November for us all in preparation for the busy Christmas season,
Sally

PS.  Next time you come to church or wander through the churchyard do look out for our new bug church (a place for insects of all types to take up residence).  We are really grateful to Steve for creating this and would love children to add extra sticks and foliage for the bugs to live in.
Community Memorial Service 31st October 6.30pm
Please join us in church or on https://bit.ly/SANSfbooklive at 6.30pm on 31st October to remember those who have died recently or longer ago.  We will be reading out the names of those we are particularly remembering and lighting a candle for each person.  If you would like the name of a loved one included, please let Sally know by email revd.sally.robertson@nschurch.org.uk or phone 07588594410
Remembrance Sunday 14th November
So as to keep both warm and safe on Remembrance Sunday the plan for St Andrews looks like this
10am Short service of morning prayer in church
10.30am refreshments and uniformed organisations invited to join us in churchyard
10.45am short service with Act of Remembrance at 11am in churchyard.
As with all our morning services you can also watch on Facebook live.
"Acting Out" at St Andrew's Church
A creative way to serve our community for young people aged 8 and over
"Acting out" is a new way for young people aged 8 and over to serve our community using St Andrew's Church as a base.  We are launching this event at 4.30pm on Sunday 21st November and on this occasion will be encouraging the young people to use their skills to make Christmas cards for the residents of Ridgeway Rise Care home while listening to some great music and chatting about a Bible story.  The session will last about 45 minutes and refreshments and chat will be available for parents in church at the same time.  In the new year we expect this to become a monthly event and we will be asking the young people for their ideas in November.
If you have a young person who would be interested but can't make 21st November please
let us know, otherwise we look forward to seeing them then.
