Younis, Iancu Coauthor QCE21 Best Paper

A study co-authored by Ed Younis and Costin Iancu was awarded Best Paper in the Quantum Computing and Systems Track at the 2021 IEEE International Conference on Quantum Computing and Engineering (QCE21), held October 17-22. The paper introduces QFAST (Quantum Fast Approximate Synthesis Tool) which has been shown to scale up to seven qubits, producing circuits shorter by up to two orders of magnitude than other state-of-the-art techniques.

Summer Student Research Opens New Doors in Quantum Image Processing

When Mercy Amankwah joined the Computing Sciences Area’s Summer Program in June, she found quantum computing intriguing but intimidating. By summer's end, she had helped advance the field.

AQT Propels Tech and Talent

The Advanced Quantum Testbed's technical lead David Santiago shares his thoughts about the fast-growing field of Quantum Information Science and his journey growing up and studying physics in San Juan, Puerto Rico. (En honor al Mes de la Herencia Hispana, el artículo también está disponible en español.)
