The plan is simple with Atalis Bay, we’ll work back from the Group 1 Nunthorpe 2022 and each ensuing season too, all being well.

His 2nd to Nunthorpe winner WINTER POWER, on the Knavesmire, in May, reads exceptionally well now. A repeat of that performance (which is actually 5lbs short of his career best), would have seen him finish 4th or so in the Group 1 Nunthorpe, this year.

Already a listed winner, he excels at 5f, loves to front run, has a Timeform rating of 111, acts on most goings, remains very lightly raced for a sprinter, is currently unbeaten on the AW polytrack surface, has age very much on his side (most sprinters are 4-6yo when they are at their peak), still seems to be improving and he’s only become available, given he was a very inexpensive purchase as a yearling (800gns) as the current owners have decided to cash in their chips.

It’s only our humble opinion, but we’d wager that there’d be no finer opportunity to join a Group 1 winning syndicate than this fellow (MPR have won 3, to date - including with G FORCE, who we purchased from this very sale). He cost a mighty 130,000gns but he’ll be racing for first prizes of anything between £28,000 and £199,000 in each and every race he contests. Races like The Kings Stand at Royal Ascot and The Prix De L’Abbaye could even wager for more. He’s the perfect Saturday and Festival horse.

Robert Cowell is a multiple Group 1 winning trainer, whose expertise is purchasing and nurturing young sprinters, moulding them into the finished article and eking out pounds and pounds of improvement from them. Given that trick, if this horse were to become a Champion and a Stallion, there’d be little surprise here at MPR HQ.

We’re shooting for the stars, with this purchase, and should we land on the moon, the journey will still have been a fun one along the way.
