Dear Friends and Supporters of the Solar Impulse Foundation,
We are traveling to COP26 in Glasgow, and we are not coming empty-handed: next to a suitcase full of efficient, clean, and profitable climate Solutions, we are also presenting, for the first time in Glasgow, new tools that make them accessible for decision-makers in government and business.
As you know, the Foundation has dedicated the past years to identifying, assessing, and boosting more than 1000 cleantech solutions that protect the environment and grow our economies. While our portfolio continues to grow fast, the new challenge of boosting their adoption really begins.
To make these Solutions accessible to decision-makers, our team has designed the Solutions Explorer, a one-of-a-kind search engine allowing everyone to search through our ever-growing and curated database.
Showcasing the potential of the Solutions Explorer and paying tribute to the hosting country of COP26, we have created a Solutions Guide addressed to Scotland. The Solutions Guide looks at the Scottish context and puts forward a selection of technologies that could help the country reach its ambitious environmental objectives.
As part of the Solutions Guide for Scotland, the Foundation presents a case study on the local whisky industry as a key business in Scotland’s economy. It focuses on The Glenmorangie Company, a brand within the LVMH Group, demonstrating how the whisky industry could successfully transition towards its declared objective to reach net-zero by 2040.
The clock is ticking faster every day. But inaction cannot be excused by the lack of solutions. To put it in the words of our Founder and Chairman, Bertrand Piccard: “We want to convince governments and businesses that raising ambitions does not represent an unmanageable risk but rather an economic opportunity to be seized with audacity. The good news is that the technologies exist, and they are just waiting to be implemented.”
