On Thursday, we spontaneously decided to go take a "peak" at what remained of our fall colors, and enjoyed a little "Selah" (a pause) away from office work. Not only had some of fall's beauty stuck around, but we are reminded how much we enjoy spending time with one another. It was a perfect little date-day....and to round out the afternoon, we rode at the back of our property on horseback, enjoying more of God's creation, including a small herd of elk that allowed us to ride right alongside of them!

Rounding Out October in FOCUS

If there is one thing that the last couple of years have taught us is that nothing should surprise us... Life is full of changes, tweaks, turns, and a few hiccups.

Here's what didn't happen that was on our schedule. We were supposed to be welcoming a special couple for a "ministry get away" from the 20th-24th. However, both came home from a ministry event in Oregon and Washington sick with a bacterial infection and just needed the time in their own space to recover. We were supposed to be speaking on the 24th at the little Baptist church in Dulce as they celebrated and honored the work of first responders over the last couple of years within the community. AGAIN...too much illness within the congregation has postponed that event.

We have grown very comfortable with the Lord bossing our schedule and organizing just what He has fit for us in FOCUS.

Here's what did happen over the last week.

Bay DID speak at another church in Dulce on the 17th, filling in for the pastor who had to make an emergency trip with his family to Texas in order to preach a funeral for his uncle who passed recently of COVID. We are so grateful for the friendships and the sweet opportunities of ministry the Lord is building in that community for us.

(See pictures below) Bay, also, spoke on a very chilly night for an FCA Fields of Faith here in Pagosa Springs on October 20th. Fields of Faith is an annual event that emphasizes outreach within the area. The organizers of this night did a great job pulling together pre-event games on the high school football field, feeding dinner (& serving lots of hot chocolate) to those in attendance, and paving the way for Bay to share an evangelistic message with a worship band (combined students and adults) and testimonies. Oh "we-of-little-faith"....we were hoping for 50-75 students in attendance, and were thrilled when nearly 200 huddled under blankets and propane heaters strategically placed throughout the stands to hear what God had placed on Bay's heart. Best of all, between 30-40 raised their hands indicating they had prayed a prayer surrendering their lives to the Lord!  As the evening closed, many of these joined in prayer circles on the football field for followup. Make no mistake, God is still moving and folks are still coming to know Him in a personal way. One sweet testimony: as we were preparing to leave for home, one of the middle school teachers came up to Bay to thank him for participating, and for what he had shared. His words to Bay were: "For the first time since I've heard it, the gospel message made sense to me. Thank you for making it so clear!"  .......and thank you, Lord, for we know that was not of man, but of God!

Peg spoke again this morning, leading a workshop, via Zoom, for global women serving in many places overseas, in a variety of different capacities, all with the desire to share the gospel "to the ends of the earth."  We are still grateful for the creative doors the Lord has opened for ministry. She also continues meeting one on one with women throughout the week.

As always, thank you for your encouragement and support; and:

"At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ...and, that we may make it clear..."  Colossians 4:3

With love and prayers,
Bay and Peg
