CALLS FOR ART / SUBMISSIONS 
Wilma Morrison Art Call to Black Artists or Collectives
Deadline for Submissions: Sunday, November 28
The City of Niagara Falls Recreation and Culture Department invites Ontario-based Black Artists or Black Art Collectives working in any medium to submit a FINAL design concept for a temporary 2D artwork to be digitally reproduced (printed) and installed on the exterior of the Niagara Falls Exchange.
This project will commemorate the distinguished and passionate achievements of Wilma Leone Morrison in preserving the history and positive roles the Black Canadians played in Niagara Falls and beyond. The successful artist(s) will receive $5,000, plus HST if applicable.

NIAGARA FALLS POETRY PROJECT SUBMISSIONS

Dedicated to the poetry of Niagara Falls – the waterfalls, river, city, people, and history. A section of the site is also being developed to showcase Niagara poets. The very first poem that contains a reference to Niagara Falls is by Le Sievr de la Franchise, published in 1604.

Submissions of original poems about Niagara Falls are welcome. Send us your poems. If you are a Niagara Falls poet please indicate that you live in Niagara Falls.

CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT FUND
Are you a Niagara Falls based artist, organization or collective? The NFCDF is an annual fund for local projects to take place between March and February of each year. Project proposals can range from exhibitions to events, walking tours, workshops, panel discussions, lectures, public programs, art installations, project or concept development, heritage-related ideas, community celebrations, interactive experiences and performances. We encourage participatory and co-created projects, and collaborative partnerships between organizations, collectives and individuals. Up to $10,000.

QUEEN STREET ARTISTS' GROUP
Calling all Emerging Community Artists!
We are now dedicating a section of our Events page for our emerging artists to showcase works from their learning and other workshops they participated in. We will accept up to six works per artist at a time, each work can be displayed for two months. The Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games are pleased to announce that we are seeking local professional and non-professional performing artists and cultural groups who would be interested in participating in cultural and festival programs for the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games. 
Application is open to a broad, inclusive range of Niagara based performers and performance groups in traditional and contemporary disciplines in the following categories:

SANTA CLAUS PARADE
Santa Claus is coming to Niagara Falls! The parade will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Victoria Avenue at Armoury Street and will travel north along Victoria Avenue to Valley Way, turn right on Queen Street, and end at City Hall near Queen & Erie. The outdoor Christmas Market will feature up to 50 different vendors from November 13th until the 19th of December. Following the Niagara Falls Santa Claus parade, there will be a tree lighting at City Hall, which will officially mark the start of the Christmas Market. The market will run every weekend. NIAGARA FALLS HISTORY MUSEUM 
The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays, 10am to 4pm. Thursdays now open till 9pm. All visitors will be required to provide proof of double vaccination and fill out our screening questions. To make this process quicker, please have your documentation ready and visit our pre-screening website on your mobile phone before arriving and have ready to show us upon entry.

The Niagara Falls Museums teamed up with Landscape of Nations 360⁰ to create an exciting new virtual exhibition that explores the Museums’ collections of Indigenous artifacts as curated through the perspective of Indigenous curators and their allies.

RECORDINGS FROM THE MUSEUM COLLECTION
Join Assistant Curator Sara Byers to experience the people, places and events of our past through the Niagara Falls Museums audiovisual collections. In 2020 a selection of the Niagara Falls Museums audiovisual artefacts, such as motion pictures, videotapes and, sound recordings, were digitized for preservation and access. Enjoy the fruits of this labour as you watch the history of Niagara Falls come to life.
