Farm News

The Farm Stand will be open 3-6 p.m. again this week.   The online store is up and running this week, so you can choose to order there and pickup at the farm.  If it's not working, try again later.  We will also allow walk-up customers that would like to pay onsite. We prefer credit card but will have the cash register available for cash or checks.

Last week was a push to get the last of the carrots and potatoes out of the field, pull the irrigation, get garlic in, spread compost, and seed winter cover crop.  We knew the rains were coming and figured out a way to get it all done by Friday!!  It sure helps to have a great crew of staff, students, and volunteers.  Everyone worked hard this month to get the farm set for an earlier finish than last year.  Ideally we get all these final chores done before the end of October and the timing worked out perfect this year.  Hopefully the much needed rains will get our fields back to a normal level of moisture.  We've got a ways to go but the winter forecasts are calling for a wetter winter.

And, this will be the Final Farm Stand.   The Online Store is restocked and ready for your orders.  This will be the last week to get in your bulk orders.  If you want to just email them to me, that is fine.  Get those in by Thursday night so we have plenty of time to pack on Friday.
Lettuce mix is BACK and there will be a limited supply of arugula and mustard mix, too.  Come early to make sure you get the greens!
Thanks everyone for an amazing season.  It was quite the summer with the early heat and smoke.  We can't do this without your solid support.  The students have all learned so much this year and really appreciate having this facility to learn the ropes.

See you at the farm...
- Brad
