Hi, my name is Micah Perkins and I am excited to start in my role as Communications Chair for the Kent County Democratic Party. We get to continue the Democratic Party's legacy of inclusion, equity, and dignity for all people regardless of class, gender, race or sexual orientation, and I am so proud to be a part of it. As we continue to grow our party and turn Kent County blue, feel free to reach out if you would like to be more involved and if there's an event or organization that you feel would benefit from exposure in this newsletter.

Our brothers and sisters in the Kellogg's Battle Creek, MI factory are striking for the first time since 1972. Even though Kellogg's CEO makes in excess of $18,000,000/yr, Kellogg's is pushing to make their transition workforce permanent. This workforce makes roughly 2/3rds of what Kellogg's legacy employees make and get more expensive health insurance and no pension. Let's stand with our fellow Democrats, no cereal until our brothers and sisters are properly compensated! Here's where you can donate to their gofundme, here's where you can sign a pledge showing your support! Democrats have always partnered with organized labor to make our country a land of more opportunity for working men and women and a place where working men and women can unite to make conditions better for each other and their children.
