JAMES HOFFSIS 1928-2021
Jim Hoffsis was a long-time member of the Old Town community, but, oh, so much more. Korean War veteran. Husband. Father. Bookstore owner. Landlord. Member of many associations, boards and community groups. And most importantly, a loyal and treasured friend to many of us who arrived here later.
Ollie Reed, Jr., of the Albuquerque Journal has written a really nice article about Jim, but it only scratches the surface of who he really was.
A memorial service will be held for Jim Hoffsis on Wednesday, November 10th, at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE. A reception will be held afterwards.
"If you walked into Old Town’s Treasure House Books & Gifts on a day in the past two decades and lingered for a time with a volume, chances are Jim Hoffsis would soon be at your elbow to tell you anything you wanted to know about it — except how it ended."
