BOOKS BRING US COMMUNITY

What a great week last week at the Book Fair held at the middle school and ensuring that our community reads together!

We raised over $3,000 dollars at the in person book fair and we were able to put great titles into the hands of many students and families. With the Scholastic Dollars earned and the great support of many families who purchased wish list books, we were able to purchase all of the books from the Teacher’s Wish List boxes!

If you were not able to purchase books at the fair and still want to shop for Holiday gifts, you can go to the Scholastic website and shop under East Grand Rapids Middle School until November 4th.

Thank you to our Middle School families for your support and to the parents who dedicated time to work the Book Fair.

Thanks much,
Kim Bardeggia and Jackie Deane

Middle School Ski Club

The East Grand Rapids Middle School would like to invite all students to join an informal ski club at Cannonsburg for the winter of 2021-2022.  Students and ALL family members have the opportunity to purchase discounted lift tickets in the form of a punch card. The cards have other benefits as well!  You may use these tickets ANY time, but we will also organize Middle School ski nights/weekends when we see some good powder.

Transportation to Cannonsburg will NOT be provided, but we will plan to meet by the fire pits and get kids on the slopes with their friends.  If this sounds like something your child would like to get involved in this school year, please sign up at Cannonsburg’s webite.  The form linked above can also be sent to school, but Cannonsburg prefers we use the website to sign up.

All participants should fill out this form so that you’re not left out of any communications.  You can also search Facebook for our group: EGRMS Ski Club.  This Facebook group can be used by anyone to coordinate rides, times to use your passes, and share pictures.  If you have any questions, please contact the Ski Club advisor Amy Marlow at amarlow@egrps.org.

What an exciting time for the performing arts in our schools!

The Middle School play, “Sherlock Holmes and the 1st Baker Street Irregulars,” is in the Pioneer Auditorium at Wealthy Thursday and Friday at 7pm and Saturday at 2pm. Auditions for the school play are happening this week at Breton Downs. Next week Wealthy will hold auditions for “The Wizard of Oz.” And the High School Fall Play, “Clue,” is in the PAC next weekend.

Thanks to our donors, the Foundation is proud to support the performing arts in all our schools. Together, we make it possible for the show to go on, through program support, grants, mini-grants, and program ads. Thank you!
