Secretary General's Message
Dear stakeholders of our member institutions and other valued colleagues
Early last month (October 1, 2021), I assumed office as the Secretary General of our noble institution. I wish to appreciate you all, our valued members, development partners, African higher education government institutions and indeed all stakeholders for the enormous support and welcome given me since then.
As I indicated in my roadmap which I shared with you earlier, we at the AAU take our role in supporting our member universities and African higher education institutions in general very seriously. Our special focus on improving the AAU's services to our existing members and demonstrating the value of joining the Association has earnestly begun. We have committed to communicating regularly with our members and sharing key information on benefits as well as other membership related opportunities with you, for your attention.
I am also focusing on improving our administrative processes and putting in place smarter ways of working to promote transparency, accountability and a more effective AAU.
My engagement with various stakeholders including the private sector, Ministries of Education, Development partners and AAU members have been very promising so far and we look forward to working more closely with you all in the transformation Agenda.
Please note that, the AAU is hosting key events in the month of November and we invite you all to join us and contribute to the discussions on the respective thematic areas- These are the Africa Universities' Day Celebrations, the 6th ACE Impact Regional Workshop and the Quality Assurance Workshops
