Launch of the Digital Maternity Fund – £52m Unified Tech Fund for maternity system procurement.
On 17 June 2021, £52m was announced to accelerate the provision of online maternity records. We are pleased to announce that the Digital Maternity Fund opened for applications on 18 October 2021. For further information about the United Tech Fund digital maternity offering see the prospectus page here. Organisations can apply via the Unified Tech Fund page of the NHSX website. It will close at midnight on 15 November 2021.

July 2021 Monthly Maternity Statistics Published
The latest maternity statistics using the Maternity Services Data Set (MSDS) are available to view using either the National Maternity Dashboard - presenting historic data, comparisons with other maternity providers and reporting data quality and / or alternatively as a suite of spreadsheets with full listings for all the maternity measures that are published.
Further supporting documentation for the use of the MSDS as a secondary uses dataset and other useful resource hyperlinks can be viewed from the NHS Digital website here
NICE-approved High blood pressure in pregnancy Decision Aid
Hosted by Action On Pre-Eclampsia, this is a NICE-approved High Blood Pressure in Pregnancy decision support tool, for use by clinicians when supporting women to make informed decisions about their care when they have been diagnosed with high blood pressure during pregnancy.

HealthTalk is a repository of lived experience stories from people about a variety of health conditions, available to watch, listen to or read. It includes sections such as Pregnancy, Antenatal Screening, Fetal Abnormality, Miscarriage, Pre-eclampsia, Breastfeeding, Childbirth, VBAC and Neonatal surgery.
Smoking Cessation in Pregnancy study
Researchers at Bristol University are running a Smoking Cessation in Pregnancy programme - the SCiP study. They have developed a staff survey for midwives, obstetricians and MCAs about ease of access and provision of smoking cessation services with the aim of getting a national view.

A virtual joint learning event about parents that have a child taken into local authority care when the state intervenes at birth. It is hosted by the National Maternity Safeguarding Network and Lancaster University. Register here.
The webinar will examine research conducted by Claire Mason and Professor Karen Broadhurst (based at the Centre for Child and Family Justice Research at Lancaster University and the Rees Centre Oxford University), in collaboration with Dr Sarah Wise (University of Melbourne) and Dr Melissa O’Donnell (University of Western Australia) on pre-birth assessment and infant removal at birth.

East of England Maternity & Neonatal Virtual Webinar & Workshop
