Earlier this month, the third UN World Data Forum (UNWDF) gathered 700 data enthusiasts in Bern, Switzerland, and 7,000 virtually to discuss the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development's data needs and create a roadmap for the way forward.
In many ways, the UNWDF sped forward the conversation around development data and crystalized many lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as the need for core funding for data and statistics. To better understand development data financing needs and target gaps, alongside our partners at the Bern Network, we launched the Clearinghouse on Financing Development Data — the world’s first platform to provide information on data-related projects, funders, and aid recipients to better match supply and demand for statistical support.
