NOVEMBER 2021 |
When I was planning to get married over 23 years ago, I remember thinking, “marriage is a kind of contract where the terms are completely unknown!” And boy was I right! We both had hopes and dreams coming into the marriage, but we didn’t know how our careers would pan out, whether or not we be able to have children, or what kinds of successes or losses we would endure during our relationship. Marriage is filled with all kinds of uncertainties. And yet, in spite of all the unknowns, lovers continue to make lifelong commitments to each other that are worthy of celebration!
With the holiday season upon us, there will no doubt be lots of couples getting engaged! While it’s not scattered with rose petals, engaged couples are wise to put their focus on building a solid foundation that allows them to anticipate common challenges, address issues that are unique to each of them, and have a spirit of open and transparent conversations that allows them to build alignment and nurture unshakeable love for their future together!
While talking about a premarital agreement may not seem romantic, with the right team of professionals in place, it can certainly pave the way forward to start a happy marriage with some of the unknowns addressed - which aids the common goal of every engagement and wedding day being great beginnings of a new chapter. So if you or someone you know is planning to get married, we hope you’ll enjoy this edition of our monthly newsletter!
