STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Ignacio Marin

“Deciding to enroll in the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program at RCC was the best decision I ever made,” said Ignacio Marin. “I knew nothing about air conditioning, now after just 10 months in the program I've started my career.” Marin attributes his success to the program faculty, especially assistant professor Kfir Mendelovitz, who "has been a great teacher and mentor,"

Two months ago Marin was hired as a technician with Pacific Rim Mechanical. He had applied for positions in many other local companies, but was turned away because he lacked experience. Mendelovitz has made it a priority to connect with industry partners looking to hire program students and graduates. Marin is close to completing his degree and is grateful that Pacific Rim Mechanical was willing to invest in him.

The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program at RCC has equipped Marin in more ways than he ever expected. He is excited about his new position and is looking forward a successful career in Commercial Air Conditioning at Pacific Rim Mechanical
