A hands-on approach enhances children's learning

Get the most out of your Quality First participation

Are you engaging in the five benefits of Quality First? Combined, these benefits help you do what you do best—prepare children to succeed in school and in life.

  • Coaching- Your coach provides focused support through regular visits, goal planning and guidance to help you meet your goals. Your coach is here to help you achieve your quality improvement goals with on-site visits planned specifically for your program. You are expected and encouraged to participate in coaching visits as offered to maximize the benefit for you and the children you serve.

  • Assessment – Your program receives regular observations (usually every two years) to offer objective and reliable feedback on the everyday experiences of the children in your care. A written report is provided to help you gain a clear picture of your program—what is great about it and opportunities to do even better.

  • Financial Incentives- Making improvements can be costly. Financial incentives are available to assist you in overcoming these challenges and making investments in your quality efforts.

  • Specialized Assistance- You have access to a team of experts to support your program’s individual needs that may extend to a more specialized area. Professionals in the areas of health, inclusion of children with special needs and early childhood mental health may be available. Help is also available through the Birth to Five Helpline, statewide to all participants.

  • Professional Development- Professional development helps you learn new skills to benefit you and the children you serve. You have access to a wide range of professional development opportunities through the  Arizona Early Childhood Career and Professional Network, home of the Arizona Early Childhood Workforce Registry.

As a Quality First participant, you are the leader of your quality improvement process. It is up to you to make the most of your participation by engaging in the benefits of Quality First. We will be here to support you and encourage you all along the way.

Depending on the funding level of Quality First you participate in, services and benefits vary. Please refer to your enrollment agreement for details on what is available to you.
