Community Blood Drive

Schedule an appointment to donate blood today! Click here to pick your appointment time or visit the library between 11:45am - 4:00pm as a walk-in. Donations will take place in the Chief Anderson Room on the 3rd floor of the library.

Each donor will receive a $15 eGift Card and be entered to win a pair of Colts tickets provided and organized by Versiti Blood Centers of Indiana.

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred.
Higher Education Help Sessions
Every Other Tuesdays
1:00pm - 4:00pm
Study Room 1

Want to start working toward earning higher wages? Thinking about going back to school or going to college for the first time? Need help filing your FAFSA forms?  The Indiana Commission for Higher Education will be available every other Tuesday in Study Room 1 on the first floor of the library from 1:00-4:00pm to help answer any questions you might have about higher education, financial aid, and Indiana’s Next Level Jobs initiative. 

Drop-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred.  To schedule an appointment, visit or call the Information Services Desk at (765) 641-2456.

International Games Week @ APL

Get your game on at APL during International Games Week! Bring a friend or two, some kids, or even come by yourself! We will have a variety of tabletop games from the library’s collection available for all ages to try, and staff from the Gamer Dojo will be on hand for assistance.

Pick-up your items using our drive-up window!
Drive-up window services include holds pick-up, mobile printing pick-up, faxing, and copying. Located at the back of the library off of Main Street.

Drive-up window service hours are Monday - Thursday: 10:00am - 7:00pm and
Friday: 10:00am - 5:30pm. The drive-up window is closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Banding Together @ Lapel Rainbow Loom Bendy Snakes

Wrapped around your pencil or finger, this snake won't bite! Craft a bendy snake and spend time with your friends at the library after school. Please register; supplies are limited.



Meditate @ the Library

Learn to calm the body and mind by sitting in meditation. Join us as Ali Szymanski of Sage Yoga and Ayurveda in Anderson explains the basic aspects and benefits of meditation, then leads us through various simple guided meditation techniques, ending with a crystal singing bowl meditation at the end of each session. No previous experience with meditation is required; these sessions are intended for beginners!

Comfortable clothing and your own yoga mat, blanket, or cushion is suggested. Registration is requested.



Read Me a Story

People need people! There is no manufactured blood product, patients lives are only saved by the selfless give of blood donors. If you have received the COVID-19 vaccine, you may donate blood if the vaccine was administer 48 hours prior to your donation appointment. Please note that masks are required.



Brown Bag Storytime @ Lapel

Bring an afternoon snack to enjoy with a traditional library storytime. After the stories, take home a brown paper bag, packed with materials for an activity related to the stories we read.

Create!: Dinovember Dino Bowl (grades k-6)

What's better than a dino? A Dino BOWL! Join us and Kiln Creations and get messy with clay!  This program is designed for kids in grades K-6 and no prior art skills are needed. All supplies are provided. Spaces are limited and registration is required. *When registering, please register only with the child's name that will be participating. When you create with us, your ceramics will be ready to pick up at the library in one week.

*Please note that masks are required during the program inside the Creativity Lab.



Teen Tech!: Drones

"Shubh Diwali" (Happy Diwali)! Learn about Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights. This program will feature a read aloud about this special Hindu celebration. Participants will also make a craft inspired by Rangoli, a type of sand art created during this five-day long festival.
