Fill Out for CalTeach Spring 2022 Permission Numbers

*To see all the course listings, please visit our Class Schedules page on the site.

A permission number (PN) / course control number (CCN) is required to register for our upper division courses and is controlled by CalTeach. Use the following forms to get one! With a permission number you can save the course until Phase II. Questions? Email Geral at advising_calteach@berkeley.edu, or email Calteach Peers at calteach_peers@berkeley.edu. 

Note: EDSTEM 82/82T and EDUC C122 do not require permission numbers.

Letters & Science Fall Policy Reminders

As we're nearing the later half of the semester, be sure to review the Fall 2021 policy changes for L&S (which the CalTeach minor is under). For example:

  • Friday, Oct. 29 is the last day to change grading options via CalCentral.
  • Friday, Dec. 3 is the last day to submit a Late Change of Class Schedule petition, including late drops or grading options.
  • Friday, Dec. 10 is the last day to declare a major or minor if you are graduating in Spring 2022.
    • NOTE: Ready to declare CalTeach? You can declare the minor at any point after taking EDSTEM 82/82T. 
  • Friday, Dec. 10 is the last day to submit L&S Minor Completion form to Minor Advisor if graduating Fall 2021.

Peer advisors work behind-the-scenes to help run the CalTeach program. We host info sessions, socials, community and program events, staff the ARC, work on the website and newsletter, support CalTeach staff, and more!

NOTE: A prospective peer applicant could consider possibly starting in Spring 2022 or Fall 2022.

Alternative Breaks with the Public Service Center

Alternative Breaks offers service-learning trips for students to explore a social justice issue through hands-on service supplemented with education and reflection. Trips run during spring breaks and explore issues like immigration, environmental justice, public health, or poverty. Participants take a DeCal class before their trip to learn about the issue and the community partners they will be working with and to get to know each other.

New Developments in Cancer Therapies

On October 26 at 11 a.m. PT, College of Chemistry faculty and alumni will discuss the latest developments in cancer therapies. Hear from research and industry professionals at UC Berkeley, Amgen, and Eikon Therapeutics as they highlight the recent break-throughs in cancer therapies and outcomes for patients, including unpacking targeted immunotherapy, KRAS mutations, undruggable proteins, and addressing COVID-19. Don’t miss the chance to attend this live lecture and ask your questions of these innovators in the field.

The Save Your Semester workshop is designed to help students navigate different options and resources to address mid semester challenges and deficient grades. The workshop will focus on college policies such as grading option changes (P/NP), late change petitions, incomplete grades and withdrawal. Campus resources will also be discussed. This workshop is opened to all students, not just those on academic probation.

Graduate Diversity Admissions Fair

Welcome! If you’re a prospective student considering graduate study at UC Berkeley, we encourage you to attend our a virtual Graduate Diversity Admissions Fair Monday, Oct. 18 through Friday, Oct. 22. This admissions fair was developed specifically for underrepresented minority students considering graduate school, though it is open to all attendees.

At this weeklong event, we will be joined by a broad selection of our graduate programs. If your program of interest is not listed, you are encouraged to still join us for one of the plenary sessions or to explore program offerings.

Note: the Graduate School of Education at Berkeley will be holding a session on Thursday, 10/21 at 10am.

Basic Needs & Health Resources
  • The Food Pantry is located on the 1st floor of MLK Student Union for minimized contact food distribution. Hours are listed here.
  • The Basic Needs Center serves all off UC Berkeley - including holistic funds, advising services around housing, mental health, transportation and more, on their site.
  • University Health Services is operating. Remember that eligible students have a Health Opportunity Fund, up to $350 this year per student available for services and prescriptions at the Tang Center (see more here), and the Counseling and Psychological Services has free counseling sessions for all students, whether or not you have SHIP!
Technology Access Resources 
  • Remote Learning Classrooms on Campus: In need of a Zoom space? Campus has opened rooms for reservation intended for passive (no speaking aloud) participation in asynchronous and/or synchronous instruction. See the calendar reservations here.
  • If you are in need of any hardware or internet access, including but not limited to webcams, laptops, headphones, etc., the UC Berkeley STEP Program has free and low-cost technology resources: https://technology.berkeley.edu/STEP
