Rock lovers will be pleased to hear that there will be an open meeting at Rock next year – back in the usual early-May slot. It promises to be a great event, with the usual sun, sand and sea. Dates are 30 April – 2 May.

We would be keen not to be limited by the lack of good accommodation so book yours now.  While John Bray are not the only agent in town, they have the widest selection. So make your way to their website - https://www.johnbraycornishholidays.co.uk/rock-holiday-cottages.html

Plymouth Race Report
A warm, sunny day greeted the Larks which ventured to Plymouth for the Final Fling to pit their abilities against the best of the Southwest.

The Ocean City has been hosting this great event for decades, with the latest organiser being the Royal Western Yacht Club, ably led by Keith Davies and his team.

A southerly Force 3 all weekend allowed RO Dan Gibbons to run 6 excellent races over the weekend in the East side of the Sound, the fleet split into two. The highlight being a race around the Sound for the last race each day.

Nigel Hufton paired up for the first time with Cornishman Jeremy Stephens and were regularly at the front of the Slow Fleet with a bunch of (lower rating) Phantoms.

After some (post prize-giving) re-counting of the results, Hufton and Stephens were awarded 1st overall in the Slow Fleet and 2nd overall in the 51 boat combined fleet. This shows how suitable the Lark is for handicap racing.

This is a great event and will hopefully grow in popularity.

1st Lark - Nigel Hufton & Jeremy Stephens
2nd Lark - Garry Packer & Jack Bendall
