Well spring is really here with warmer days. I am enjoying hearing baby birds in their nests and seeing ducklings. Hopefully these will become more frequent as we reduce predator numbers. Our predator control workstream is currently looking at how we can support more predator control in the Wairarapa so please take the time to complete their survey.

In the catchment communities space, the steering group is busy talking to catchment groups about their needs and developing a work plan to grow and support catchment community groups in the Wairarapa. They have also been working with Greater Wellington to improve access to water quality testing for catchment groups. It is exciting to see how people are working together to achieve more.

Native Plants Resources

We have published a handy list of native plants resources on our website, from guides on restoration plantings, seed collection and propagation to local plants lists and what to plant to attract birds, lizards and bees. Thanks to our WaiP2K Intern, Charmin Dahl, for collating these resources. We'll be adding more resources pages on other topics soon.
