Dear Valued Service Provider,
The NSW Health Minister has signed Public Health Orders requiring all home and community care, and disability workers in NSW to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
This means that all staff providing these services must have their first dose by 9am 25 October, and second by 9am 29 November. If unvaccinated, staff will no longer be allowed to provide aged care or disability services.
- Workers will need to provide evidence of having received a COVID-19 vaccination if requested to do so by their employer. Employers will be able to request this information.
- An exemption is available for a worker if they are unable to be vaccinated due to a medical contraindication. A certificate, in the form approved by the Chief Health Officer, will have to be issued by a medical practitioner.

The Department of Health is holding a Vaccination Webinar for staff on Monday, 25th October 2021 - 3.30 - 4.30pm.
The webinar will support NSW in-home and community aged care workers, including volunteers and subcontractors, to:
- find out more about NSW’s public health direction on mandatory COVID-19 vaccination for aged care workers and how it applies to them
- get information about COVID-19 vaccines and vaccine safety
- find out how to access a priority COVID-19 vaccination.
The webinar will have a live Q&A discussion to answer questions workers might have on COVID-19 vaccination and on the NSW public direction for mandatory COVID-19 vaccination for in-home and community aged care workers.
