Act on Climate

First of three-part series starts October 21

The hardest part about climate change is feeling powerless. No more. 

Join us for this three-session digital workshop hosted by the EFCL Green Leagues program. You will learn three concrete steps to take to act on climate change in each of the three sessions.
The series will cover neighbourhood-level sustainability planning, climate resilience, solar PV, net-zero building, and funding opportunities and rebates.

Participants will learn from industry experts about technologies needed to achieve our goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. Community League volunteers who register will be eligible for prizes. 

What's a Sub-License?

First Information Session

Join the EFCL and the City of Edmonton for this co-hosted, two-part information session that will guide Leagues through the process of creating and implementing sub-license agreements.

A sub-license is an agreement that’s needed for any third party to use a Community League’s licensed site on an ongoing, continuous basis (more than 30 days). The City's sub-license approval process ensures that a use is suitable for your spaces, beneficial to your community and beneficial to your League.

The session will also explore EFCL’s sub-license tip sheet and how to use the templates created.

Rink Season Is Coming

Community conversation series

Rink conversations are back. It’s time to talk about community skating rinks, snowbank rinks, boarded rinks, ice tips and vendor lists. Come and connect with other passionate rink makers and directors. These sessions were very popular last year, with participants expressing they felt supported and had a chance to share and learn from the community. Learn about booking tools and apps and learn about resources offered through the EFCL. 

Mentorship Cafe

Programs and Events Directors Edition

Let’s keep the good times rolling. Join the Programs and Events Directors Café to share ideas on what to do with your community and how to coordinate activities.

Learn how other Community League members do what they do. Get together to share ideas, skills, resources and experiences to help each other succeed.

The Group Mentorship Café is a series of virtual spaces made available to Community League volunteers in a variety of board or volunteer positions.

Free Play For Your League

EFCL partnership offers multi-sport programs at low cost

Free Play for Kids is teaming up with EFCL to offer multi sport programs. You can now book trained and certified coaches to run eight weeks of programming at your hall. Kids will learn the fundamentals of soccer, hockey, basketball and flag football. Free Play will provide all the equipment and handle all the COVID-19 safety measures.

Each session can accommodate 16 children and will cost $1,600, which is $100 per child. The League can pay or ask parents to contribute.

This is a social enterprise initiative by Free Play and all revenue raised will go back into their core programming to provide vulnerable and at risk youth.
