Tesco Community Champion

Recent donations from Tesco Tenterden to the community - £250 to Tenterden Men Shed for tools and equipment, and £250 for the St Michaels School fireworks display.

Jan says "thank all our wonderful customers and staff who donate books etc for me to sell. This wouldn't be possible without their continued support"

The Bukolika Piano Trio

The Friends of St Mildreds
Saturday 6 November 2021, 3pm

The Friends of St Mildreds's Artists in Residence, the Bukolika Piano Trio, will stage an afternoon concert with music by Bridge, Debussy, Chopin, Wieniawski, Schubert, Panufnik and Dvorak. Tickets available either at Webb’s Ironmongery in Tenterden High St, or online, for more info see >>> here

Ticket Prices £15, or £5 for students. All proceeds go to The Friends of St Mildred's for the maintenance of our ancient and beautiful Tenterden Parish Church.

The Heart of Kent Show Choir

Saturday 30 October 2021, 7pm
The Heart of Kent Show Choir... and special guests at St Mildred's Church, Tenterden, featuring beautiful songs by Bocelli, Beyonce, Adele, Peter Gabriel, Celion Dion, Josh Groban and from stage and screens. The proceeds of the evening will benefit the St Mildred's Transformation Project and Macmillan Cancer Support. The Heart of Kent Show Choir

Youth Cadet Force

The Youth Cadet Force is a military style cadet unit based in Tenterden for children aged 9-18. "We are currently looking to add new members to our group both children and adult instructors. We currently have 30 children regularly attending our training nights on a Tuesday and Friday evening 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the Scout Hut, Bells Lane, Tenterden. Activities include: Field craft, Soldier skills, First aid, Map work, Health & Hygiene, Leadership & Development, Sports & physical activities, Water sports, Confidence & self esteem, Camping, Cooking, and so much more!

We hold a free trial night for anyone who is interested. All of leaders are enhanced DBS checked, our staff team is made up of ex forces and civilians to allow for an authentic training programme taken from our ‘Learning & Development Programme’ which has been created to offer maximum fun while learning new skills. We also have a huge parent following and frequently have ‘social events’ that include families too."

"Yes a very very very cool place to eat drink stay - there are several places, six hairdressers barbers, several coffee tea shops, four public house, a mini 8 mile railway, library, furniture shops - flash and antique... it's a rather large village town centre with relatively low population and surrounding villages like St Michaels are good too"

  • Remembrance Sunday 14 November : there will be a short Service at the Tenterden War Memorial starting promptly at 10.50am. There will be no parade this year. The A28/High Street will be closed from 10.40am to 11.30am between Highbury Lane and the William Caxton. Organisations attending the Service are asked to send a reduced number of representatives to avoid overcrowding. We will remember them.
  • Charity Christmas cards, stocking fillers and books by local authors are now on sale at the Tenterden Museum gift shop in Station Road. From 25th to 30th October the museum is open 1pm to 4pm (occasional days open from 11am). From 1st to 6th November the museum is open 10am to 4pm. Please support the Museum and buy your charity Christmas cards here
  • Tenterden Community Action Network : a new networking group for community groups & clubs, if you represent a group in Tenterden please come along Monday 1 November 2021 at 5pm, St Mildred's Church
  • Coming soon, a press report following the Volunteer Awards at the Town Hall on Saturday 23rd October, recognising those who made an outstanding contribution, dedication and commitment to the community during the Covid-19 pandemic
