 USDA Pandemic Response and Safety Grant Program: Applications Due End of 11/22/21) & Off-Farm Labor Housing Technical Assistance Grants Program

Pandemic Response and Safety Grant Program
The Pandemic Response and Safety (PRS) Grant Program provides grants to specialty crop producers and processors, other select producers, meat and other processors, distributors, and farmers markets to respond to coronavirus, including for measures to protect workers against novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID–19). This program is authorized and funded under section 751 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 (Pub. L. No. 116—260). USDA developed the PRS Grant Program in response to extensive stakeholder feedback during listening sessions in March 2021, and written comments provided through March 30, 2021. Off-Farm Labor Housing Technical Assistance Grants Program
The USDA Rural Development (RD) Multi-Family Housing (MFH) will host stakeholder listening sessions on the Off-Farm Labor Housing (FLH) Technical Assistance (TA) Grants program. Under this program, private and public nonprofit grantees provide TA to organizations and groups qualified to apply for Section 514 Off-Farm Labor Housing loans and Section 516 Off-Farm Labor Housing grants. Stakeholders will be invited to provide feedback to agency staff on the program and how TA can expand opportunities for the development of Off-Farm Labor Housing.
Listening sessions will be held on Wednesday, November 3rd, and Wednesday, November 10th, 2021. Participants may choose the session that is most convenient for their schedule. A meeting confirmation notice will be emailed to registrants.

 CAUSE: Resources for COVID-19 Testing in Santa Maria

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share with you a resource on behalf of CAUSE, in collaboration with the Department of Public Health and MICOP, that gives information on how to access COVID-19 testing in Santa Maria. This resource is very important, not only with the rise of the Delta variant, but with the return of schools, many students are being asked by their schools to get tested for COVID-19. We are hearing in our community that making appointments for free COVID19 testing has been challenging for those who speak Spanish and/or Mixteco. We ask that you please share this graphic with your networks which can include colleagues and communities in Santa Maria you serve, in person or over social media.
The first page of this flyer is information for Spanish speakers on accessing free testing through the Department of Public Health and the state at the Santa Maria Fairgrounds (937 S Thornburg) by calling and following each step.
The second page is of support to make an appointment in Mixteco by contacting the MICOP organizers as well as Mixteco interpreters that are available at the fairgrounds. Last, but not least, we have our partner CHC as another resource to get tested at their clinic on S. Blosser.
