Member’s Resource – Important Travel Notice - Cross Island Parkway Closed this Sunday, 10/24
To our Members,
If you plan to be at Belmont or in the area on Sunday, October 24th, please be advised that the stretch of the Cross Island Parkway that runs by Belmont Park will be closed to traffic.
Cross Island Closure Dates & Times
- Closing: Saturday, October 23, 10:00 p.m.
- Reopening: Sunday, October 24, 8:00 p.m.
The parkway will close between the Southern State/Belt Parkway to the south and the Grand Central Parkway to the north.The closure is to install steel girders over the road to support platforms for the new Elmont train station.
Transportation officials encourage motorists to use the Meadowbrook Parkway to the east and the Van Wyck/Whitestone Expressway combination to the west as alternatives on Sunday.
