Dear Neighbor,

Please join me for my online Town Hall on Tuesday, November 9th from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.

Each fall the City Council dedicates two months of the year to focus entirely on crafting the city budget. This town hall will focus on sharing an overview of the Mayor's 2022 proposed budget, strengthening our region’s behavioral health crisis response system, and hearing from YOU so that I can be sure we are building a budget that works for all of us.

My top three priorities for the 2022 budget are:

  • Improving the city's behavioral health response to make our communities safer
  • Addressing homelessness
  • Creating vibrant public spaces
I am also supporting additional funding for rental assistance, food security, child care facilities, and tree protection.

During the Town Hall I will provide updates about my work this year and host three presentations. We will hear from:

  • City Budget Director Dr. Ben Noble for a general overview of the Mayor's proposed 2022 budget with special focuses on homelessness, behavioral health, and public spaces.
  • King County Department of Community & Human Services Director Leo Flor and Behavioral Health & Recovery Division Director Kelli Nomura to discuss how Seattle fits into the behavioral health space with King County and Washington State, our role in providing behavioral health services, and their vision for the pathway forward.
  • Downtown Emergency Service Center Executive Director Daniel Malone for a discussion about mental health crisis first response and the Mobile Crisis Team.
We will end the Town Hall with Q&A from you – D6 residents. Please RSVP by hitting the button and we will send you instructions to join us and ask questions:
