Second Sunday

 November 14 at 6:00 PM

On the “Second Sunday” of the month, the worship team of First Presbyterian Church of Santa Rosa is offering another evening of worship music. We offer this as an additional opportunity to respond through singing to God's great love and grace and to reconnect with and reorient our lives around God. This also can be an opportunity to invite friends. Come join us in this time of singing, scripture, and prayer!

Great Thanksgiving Banquet Food Drive

Each year we join with other Sonoma County churches in providing food for Redwood Gospel Mission’s (RGM) Great Thanksgiving Banquet.

An estimated 600 families will be served on November 24th using procedures modified to comply with Covid restrictions. In years past we have filled grocery bags with food items to provide a family meal. This year, like last year, RGM has asked each church to provide specific quantities of items that will be assembled into the final bags. This year First Presbyterian is providing three items: packets of gravy, canned sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pies.  Rather than each of us bringing these items to the church, the Community Service Team will secure the items and arrange for their delivery to RGM. After all, pumpkin pies require special care and transport.

We invite you to participate by sending a financial contribution of $11.00 per family (or multiples of 11 for more than one family) by Monday, November 22.  Make the check payable to First Presbyterian Church and in the memo line write: “Community Service - RGM Thanksgiving.” If you prefer to pay online, go to our Online Giving page and choose Community Service.

Soul Training – Celebration of Thanks!

Sunday, November 7 at 4:00 PM in the Sanctuary

“Be Encouraged!”

A celebration of thanks and remembrance will be held Sunday, Nov. 7 at 4 pm in the Sanctuary.  In the midst of a global pandemic, ongoing potential fire threats, and a world where division seems to be the persistent theme . . . God is still working.  And God is good!

Using song, Scripture and our own personal sharing, we will be reminded and encouraged of the ongoing work of our Savior within our congregation and community.  You are very welcome to bring your own stories of thanks for the work you have personally seen God do in your lives.  Come as you are!

Owl Prowl Rescheduled - NEW DATE!

Weather permitting - Saturday, November 6

Meet in the church parking lot at 4:30 PM.

Join us in pursuit of the hoot on a quiet night walk led by Scott Campbell to learn more about these fascinating creatures.  This evening experience will include fun facts that focus on the Great Horned and Barn Owls along with fun activities in “Hoot Owl Hollow.”

We will leave the church at 5:00 PM and carpool to Hands Full Farm In Sebastopol.  Maps will be provided. Bring a flashlight, a water bottle, warm clothes, and your sense of adventure!

You are welcome to come early and meet in the Presbyterian Preschool playground, from 3:30-4:30, to visit “Hoot Owl Hollow” (created by our own Nina Campbell, a teacher at Presbyterian Pre-School), enjoy some refreshments, get to know others, & hear a short talk about the owls we are hoping to see! This is a great opportunity for parents to ponder and play with their children.

Our guides for the event are Janeann Erickson (Hands Full Farm) and Scott Campbell, former leaders of the Madrone Audubon Society and have volunteered in Sonoma County Schools.

Register with Allie Shoulders by clicking this link or call her at 890-8010 in order to receive weather updates and reminders and other pertinent information regarding this adventure.
