Sarah Miller '19 Puts Her Deaf Studies BA to Use at Motion Light Lab

Miller graduated in May 2019 and was selected the commencement speaker for her graduation ceremony. She was the first Deaf commencement speaker in the history of Columbia.

The film, directed by faculty member Margaret Byrne, will be available for screening virtually October 14-24 and in person on October 23.

The 10th Annual Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition Selects Top Five Finalists | NEW JERSEY STAGE

On November 14, 2021, the finalists, including Jazz and Contemporary Voice Instructor at ChiArts and Columbia voice faculty member G. Thomas Allen, will compete in person on the NJPAC stage in front of a live audience.

Industry Professional Speaker: Katie Waters

Come join the Editor's Guild of Columbia for our industry professional speaker of the semester: Katie Waters! Katie is an alumni of Columbia who now works at the post-sound house NoiseFloor since 2014 in Chicago. She has tried her hand as the Studio Manager, Producer, and is currently the Foley Artist, which are all experiences she is excited to share with us. Her work has been nominated for awards including a MPSE Golden Reel award for cinematics work on Destiny 2.
