This year, we focused on creating a campaign that would mobilise our members, patrons, the sector and get a million people excited about their eye health! We think it is fair to say that we succeeded!
Through the #LoveYourEyes campaign, the sector came together like never before, our reach surpassed targets, and millions (yes, millions) of people worldwide got behind #LoveYourEyes.
We have said it before, but we are saying it again. Thank you to the entire team - this campaign required input and effort from everyone, and the success only reflects that effort and expertise. We can all be very proud.
Please enjoy the following "brag book", and take a moment to pat yourself on the back for the part you played in making it all happen!
PS. In the coming weeks, as we reflect on successes (and challenges) from World Sight Day 2021, we ask that you share this survey with your networks. This survey will provide us with invaluable information as we plan ahead to 2022.
We set a target of one million pledges to #LoveYourEyes by World Sight Day. That was a modest goal, but we didn't anticipate our final number! 👇
The design team created some amazing assets that were shared with our partners and available for download. Take a look at how organisations around the world applied them to their social media communications. 👇
For the purpose of this internal report, we are presenting the engagement and reach across our social channels including World Sight Day.
Stay tuned for our final report including campaign numbers from day one until close!
When we said Global Challenge - we mean it! From New Zealand to New York, from Togo to Tanzania, people worldwide had their vision checked.
This year, the IAPB World Sight Day Photo Competition has attracted 1,040 entries and 1,725 views!
Our judges have commented that "The photos quality, of both categories, were amazing," and, "It was literally difficult to vote or select any one photo out of them as all photos are beautifully captured, eye-catching and message throwing."
The Photo of the Year, for both the Professional and Amateur Competition Streams, will be announced on 29 October 2021.
Please see a selection of submissions below.
