A Note from the LB Crew Board President
Hello families! We had a very successful Green Days and are excited to have received a lot of interest from new rowers. The Board has been working hard throughout the summer and early fall to prepare for the upcoming season as we hope to return to “normal.” For seniors and parents of seniors – remember that you are the only ones who remember what a “normal” season looks like. Please volunteer your time and help the new parents and rowers as best you can.
Traditionally, we’ve relied on fundraising to keep registration fees the lowest in the area. Unfortunately, without the ability to raise funds for the last few years, we need to be prepared for financial challenges this season. At our last board meeting, the board voted to increase the fees for the spring season by $50 to $800, which still remain among the lowest in our area. We may also see fee increases by VASRA and NoVA Parks, which are out of our control, so these numbers may change again. In the meantime, Brian Luti (Fundraising VP) and his team are working hard to bring us as many fundraising opportunities as possible. Please participate in as many as you can and share with friends and family! (Noodles and Company next month, Rowers on the Run 5k, Holiday Wreath sales, etc.).
We are getting excited for winter conditioning and are planning our interest meeting for November 17th (details below). Please come out and learn more about Crew and meet the Coaches and the Board.
Reach out any time if you have questions or concerns. Stay safe and healthy and we look forward to seeing you on the 17th!
