“Mysticssippi” blues man Harry Manx has been called an “essential link” between the music of East and West, creating musical short stories that wed the tradition of the Blues with the depth of classical Indian ragas. He has created a unique sound that is hard to forget and deliciously addictive to listen to.

Mambo & Other Works

The Mambo and Other Works program features a meticulous blend of contemporary and neo-classical works by Canada’s leading dance makers. This high energy program promises to please a wide range of spectators.

The program opens with Petrushka (2019), a playful meditation on love and loss created by the celebrated dancer, teacher, and choreographer Heather Dotto. Classical ballet fans will love “Celestial Mechanics” beautiful choreographed to a Beethoven piano sonata. Rounding out the program, audiences will be treated to Ballet Kelowna commissioned MAMBO (2018) by Alysa Pires. This is a colourful joie de vivre set to a vibrant soundtrack of Latin, swing, and jazz standards by musical legends such as Dean Martin, Perry Como, Rosemary Clooney, Sarah Vaughn, and more.

Deadline Extended!
The Capitol is organizing a new fundraiser event focused on community participation. An evening of winter-themed stories by locals who are wanting to share. These stories can be a family story, a personal connection story, a local story or a culturally significant fable or folk tale. Stories should be no more than 8 minutes in length. Applications must be submitted before October 31st. The show will take place between December 3rd-5th (exact date TBA), with one rehearsal in the week leading up. All performers in this show are required to be fully vaccinated in accordance with current health orders.
