Salute to Veterans

On this Veterans Day, I would like to invite the North Olmsted community to join me in honoring and celebrating our local veterans for their patriotism, service and sacrifice. On Thursday, November 11, the City and North Olmsted City Schools are partnering with VFW Post 7647 to host the annual Salute to Veterans at the North Olmsted High School Performing Arts Center. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. with the ceremony beginning at 9:30 a.m. Light refreshments will follow. For the protection of all, face masks will be required of all attendees. Please reserve your seat by November 2 by leaving a message for Jeff Zullo at (440) 588-5800 x8335.

With Gratitude,

Mayor Kevin Kennedy

Fall Leaf Collection

Fall leaf collection has started. Loose leaves will be picked up from tree lawns only. If you have ditches, please put leaves in a pile rather than spread throughout the ditch. Completed location updates will be posted HERE.

Republic Services Bulk Pickup & Yard Waste Collection

Bulk Trash Collection will be November 4. The last weekly collection for yard waste is November 26. Use brown lawn and leaf bags or a can clearly marked YARD WASTE. Any brush must be cut into 4 ft. lengths and bundled. After yard waste collection is over with Republic Services in November, yard waste can only be placed in plastic bags and put out on bulk collection day. Oxcart Pantry News
Pollinator Pantry
The newest addition to the Oxcart Pantry property is the recently installed Pollinator Pantry. This new garden includes native plants such as Black-eyed Susans, Milkweed, Coneflower, Phlox, Bee Balm and more. This garden will provide food and habitat for birds, bees and other insects, while also filtering stormwater and stabilizing the soil. The garden will also attract wildlife that will make the nearby community garden more successful and increase harvests. This garden was made possible through collaboration of many partners with special recognition to the North Olmsted Garden Club. Read more and see photos from our planting day HERE. Looking forward, the Garden Club plans to install an informational sign using grant funds awarded through the Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation Action Grant Program.

Thanksgiving Collection
The staff and volunteers at our Oxcart Pantry are gearing up and preparing to help our neighbors in need this holiday season. We rely on the support and generosity of those in and around the community to support our mission with food and financial resources. Please help us by donating food items fit for a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings. We have put together our wish list and donation guidelines HERE. Financial donations are gratefully accepted online HERE. And if you are in need of assistance, do not hesitate to call the Oxcart Pantry at (440) 716-4165.
