What we're reading:
Two quick reads this week: 1) The caption to Dalia Mogahed's frankly shocking post about a kid's birthday party, featuring a real-life alligator, that goes horribly wrong is a repository of life lessons. 2) Sacred Footsteps' brief history of the legendary green dome of the Prophet's (saw) mosque in Madinah.

What we're watching:
Our favourite celebrity chef and supporter Nadiya Hussain has a new book on the horizon and we cannot wait to get our hands on it. See her trailer here and pre-order here*.

What we're listening to:
Layla Shaikley host of the Muslims Doing Things podcast interviews Fatmah Muhammad, the Knafeh Queen. We really don't need much more than the word knafeh to spark our interest so the algorithms have clearly got us figured out. A lovely episode on empathy and persistence.

What we're loving:
Happy Socks meets North African tradition and modern streetwear in a special collection, "Straight outta da Madina".

Jeem Juxtapositions:
Have you ever found yourself getting in your car, arriving at your destination, and wondering how you got there? It's common to find yourself disconnected when you do the same things over and over every day.⠀Check out our recent Instagram post 3 simple mindful practices to live every day?

Thank you all for continuing to frequent our Jeem Essentials* reading list. The list is a curated selection of reads that have featured in this newsletter, been mentioned in one of our Instagram Stories or have simply tickled our fancy. One thing's for sure: they resonate with our desire to inspire peace, purpose and productivity.

Quote we're pondering over:

"Without dark, we can't understand light" — @vivathestrangers
