Dear Valued Booking Agents,

As you are all aware, there has been an uptick in title rejections by Jacksonville Customs as well as fines levied on Forwarders for such rejections. This is due to but not limited to missing and or mismatching info on your DR, Titles, AES filings and missing EIN’s.

Therefore, we requested a meeting with Jacksonville Customs Office to discuss such developments and asked for clarification. Jacksonville Customs were very respective to our request and scheduled a meeting right away to help educate us on the requirements and guidelines.

On October 19th a meeting with Jacksonville Customs Office was held and attended by Amports Terminal, NortonLilly’s title cleaning office, WAF trade lane carriers, JAX Port representatives and several Forwarders/NVOCC’s.
Missing EIN’s and or mismatched EIN’s on the DR and AES filing was identified to be the reason for the vast majority of rejections and or fines.

Jacksonville Customs advised that if a unit is sold at an Auction, the Auction’s EIN can be used as long as you can provide a BOS from such Auction with your DR.

As for the fines that have been levied over the past few weeks, Jacksonville Customs was kind enough to waive all such fines. BUT, effective immediately, any future rejections will go out with a warning, if such rejections are not fixed within 5 business days, a fine will be levied and not waived.

Note: Please reach out to Norton Lilly’s Jacksonville’s Title Cleaning Office for more clarity.
