We recently had the pleasure of attending this year's Hawaiʻi International Film Festival.  This year the festival was the first to have screenings both in-person at the Consolidated Theaters in Ward and Kahala, as well as virtual screenings online.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our friends at the
Hawai'i International Film Festival for including a  tribute to our late
 Executive Director, Leanne K. Ferrer, at their HIFF Pau Hana event.

We were honored to present this year's PIC Trailblazer Award to screenwriter
Dana Ledoux Miller.  A graduate of the Academy for Creative Media at the University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa, Dana's notable works include serving as a producer on ABC's "Designated Survivor", Netflix's "NARCOS" and HBO's "The Newsroom".

Dana is currently co-showrunning Netflix's "Thai Cave Rescue" mini series. 

The PIC Trailblazer Award is given to a cinema artist of Pacific Islander heritage who broadens the scope of Pacific Islander stories onto the world stage, producing
award-winning work in independent and global cinema.

Congratulations to all the filmmakers who participated in film festivals this year!
We would also like to recognize the following PIC Funded films that received
high honors and awards this season:

Pacific Heartbeat was recently announced as one of several programs nominated for the 37th Annual International Documentary Association awards in the
"Best Curated Series" category.
