Sport 4 Life has launched Maths Functional Skills Qualifications for anyone aged 16-29 years and not in employment, education or training.

Bridging the healthcare access gap for people with disabilities
A new initiative to encourage more voluntary groups, charities and volunteers to take up sign language as an extra language and skill, is now available locally. The Signs4Life scheme is to help people to communicate and engage with vulnerable service users, members of the public, and colleagues, who may be hard of hearing.

Resilience Fund
The Berkeley Foundation has launched a new Resilience Fund to help strengthen the voluntary sector various areas across the country including Warwickshire and the City of Birmingham. Grants are available to registered charities and CICs over two years, along with a learning and evaluation programme. Around ten grants will be awarded each year. The deadline for applications is 5pm on the 31st October 2021.

Receive extra donations just from a few clicks!
Fundraising platform easyfundraising is offering Birmingham voluntary sector organisations the chance to receive extra donations simply by setting up a fundraising page. easyfundraising enables your organisation to benefit from more donations when your staff, volunteers and other supporters do their Christmas shopping online this year with over six thousand retailers.

YEF Neighbourhood Fund Programme
The programme will test different models and approaches to community engagement to better understand how, where and why it supports improved outcomes for children at risk of becoming involved in violence. Birmingham is one of five pilot areas.

The Women’s Sector Resilience Fund Phase 2 is a fund that has been set up to support local networks of organisations working with and for women to make changes to systems that cause women’s poverty in their area.

National Express Foundation (West Midlands)
Applications are invited from charities and community groups for a share of a new pot of funding which is being made available to help young people (aged 15 – 24) in the West Midlands. Grants are being made available through the National Express Foundation to help young people gain the qualifications they need, to build the skills that will help them get jobs, and to help them develop constructive social networks outside of education or work. The deadline is 29th October 2021.

Community Fund - Arnold Clark
The Arnold Clark Community Fund will accept applications from organisations working to support food banks, toy banks, poverty relief, and housing and accommodation. Only one application will be accepted per organisation and applicants will be randomly selected at the end of each month to receive funding. The final deadline for applications is the 31st December 2021.

A team of students from King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls won this year's Birmingham Civic Society’s Next Generation Awards. The winning project ‘Clothe the Country’ plans to raise awareness about clothing poverty in the city and to encourage people to donate clothes to those in real need.
