Community clean-up is a great success! 

Everyone mucked in to help fill skips of rubbish and leave two streets in Golborne looking neat and tidy during a community clean-up event last week.

The blitz of Knowsley Avenue and Naylor Avenue in Golborne was organised by local councillors. Thanks to their efforts, as well as local residents and volunteers, the roads were soon looking neat and tidy again!

Could you sponsor a tree for hospice patients this Christmas?

For the last few years, our local hospice has been bringing joy to patients by filling its grounds with sparkling Christmas trees over the festive season. 

Now Wigan and Leigh Hospice are hoping to make 2021's '5000 Lights' project the biggest and best ever - and they're looking for local businesses to sponsor the trees.

Take a stall at a local Christmas market 

If you run a small business selling handcrafted goods, foods, or other gift items, there's a chance to set up stall at a Christmas Fayre and Market being organised by Golborne and Lowton West Voice on Saturday, December 4. 

The event will take place on the car park next to Golborne Library. There are already 40 stallholders signed up, but room for more!

Lowton WI meet on the first Thursday of the month at Lowton Social Club.
