Welcome to the October edition of the DASH Newsletter, 

This month we have updates on the We Are Invisible We Are Visible WAIWAV project and we're pleased to announce that the DASH Agents of Change will be embarking on their online residency.

We also share news of an open call for artists based in Coventry and that Curating for Change, a ground-breaking work placement programme for D/deaf and disabled curators in museums, has launched this week.

WAIWAV Deadline Approaching

The deadline for submissions for our We Are Invisible We Are Visible WAIWAV project is in just over a week's time. 

We are seeking 31 d/Deaf, Disabled or Neurodivergent artists to make interventions based on Dada/ Surrealism/ Disability art in 31 Plus Tate organisations across the UK on 2 July 2022.

Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity and get your applications in by the deadline of Midnight,1 November

The fee for each intervention will be £2800, which will include all costs.

Agents of Change Residency

We are pleased to announce that we now have our DASH Agents of Change! 

DASH has partnered up with In Place of War on their 100 Agents of Change Residency.

The residency will be held virtually in November 2021, with a programme co-designed and shaped by the young people taking part.

Participants in the residency will be supported to take those new skills and knowledge back into their communities across the country and use them to promote social cohesion through art and activism.

We can't wait to hear what our young artists have to say and will be sharing more news from the project with you soon.

Open Call - Coventry Based Artists

Historic England, Coventry BID and DASH in partnership with Coventry City of Culture Trust are working together on a micro-commission for The Show Windows: Reflections, taking place during Coventry City of Culture 2021. 

We are looking for an artist who identifies as d/Deaf, disabled, or neurodivergent with a CV postcode, to develop a new artwork that will preserve and celebrate City Arcade's architectural history, as well as its communities. 

The artist will be working between January and March 2022. The fee for the commission will be £2000, including artist fee and production costs.

Curating for Change programme Launches

Curating for change work placement programme

Curating for Change, a ground-breaking work placement programme for D/deaf and disabled curators in museums, has launched thanks to an award of £950,900.00 from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Fellows and Trainees will be hosted by more than 20 partner museums from across England and each Fellow will have space to research and curate a range of new exhibitions and events for more than 240,000 visitors across 9 locations.
