Hello There, Beautiful Soul!

We did it!

Together - all those weeks of hard work and concentration - we will find out results for Fund6 Catalyst round during the next week. Best of luck to all Proposers out there - we're with you on the edge of our seats. But before we do - let's fly through what's the latest in the Catalyst world.

Town Hall

As always, we held our weekly town hall on Wednesday. Missed it? No worries. Rewatch the recording with timestamps. Too busy to watch the entire thing? Skip over presentation slides for key themes.

Three Cohort presentations:

  1. Cardano Student Clubs in Ethiopia by Nebiyu Sultan (Fund5)
  2. Diversifying Voting Influence by Kenric Nelson (Fund4)
  3. Visual Studio Smart Contract Plugin by Rob Grieg (Fund3)

💡 Wish to join live next time? Register now via this link & save the spot already for Oct 27 @ 18:00 UTC and every week following.

Fund6 vote is now closed

290,000+ votes cast in Fund6. Remember, all of this has been possible due to work that each and everyone of YOU has been putting into building on-chain governance a reality. This round we trialed number of useful features - like the much extended voter registration period open for 50+ days, the first iterations of privacy & voter history or the notifications. Step by step - we're making progress together. Thank you all for playing your important role in this process.

Note: remember - one person/wallet can cast more than one vote.

What's next? 🤔

  1. Tallying & verifying all votes starts now - timeline is till Oct 28 to publish full results
  2. F6 Cohort onboarding to being shortly after
  3. Voter rewards are expected during Nov 1 week. Stay tuned!

Catalyst Circle v1 retiring

After very much successful first iterative cycle of Catalyst Circle - it's first term is coming slowly but surely to its end. If you are hearing about the Catalyst Circle for the first time - I highly recommend checking out our blog piece written by Kriss Baird. Circle v2 is just around the corner.

Before sharing more details - I would like to extend the biggest thank you to all the volunteers/pioneers who have taken it upon themselves to carry the light torch of what has become an invaluable source of issue sensing within Catalyst community. Thank you David, Dean, Dor, Felix, Juliane, Lauris and Victor for taking on leap of faith in the beginning and showing us what's possible.

Special thanks also goes to CC Admin team who have risen up recently to support the work done by the Circle members.

We appreciate you all and the work that went into making v2 soon the reality.

  • You are patient, experienced in communication and coordination, and familiar with social media channels and co-working tools.
Does that sound like you or your nominee you have in mind instead? Great! You (or they) could be a great fit to be a representative for the Catalyst Circle. Apply yourself or nominate someone else via this form

Catalyst Boost Camp

Some of the existing funded projects have taken another leap of faith to undergo a very first iteration of the Catalyst Boost Camp. Series of workshop sessions to sharpen entrepreneurship skills. It offers mentoring and additional tools for funded proposers to leverage in their endeavours as they navigate the post funding life.

This is the very first time that we have 10 teams not only getting community funding - but on top of it all - also participating in getting accelerated on their path - and that’s very magical. This is not a common sight anywhere else. Best part? It's is free of charge now.

Can you imagine where this path is going to take us next?

Fund7 innovation timeline

Kind reminder that the plan is to kick start Fund7 with insight sharing stage on Nov 11, 2021. Actual draft proposals are expected to be submitted during Nov 18-25, 2021. Challenges are yet to be announced as per Fund6 results to come. Stay tuned. $8M dollar fund in total.

Fund5 voter rewards - bug fix

During the execution of Fund5 voter rewards - an unexpected work flow led to a wrong payment allocation. This resulted in an incomplete reward distribution. You can read about the bug here in some detail.

Following the audit of the human process - we have now rectified the issue and incomplete Fund5 voter rewards are going to be allocated within next week in full amount. This allocation is going to be submitted to blockchain this weekend and become spendable in your wallets by the end of next week (once epoch ends).

Curious how to check them? Read this Fund4 demo post which outlines the process - it has not changed. Fund6 voter rewards will arrive separately in November - in correct format and amount.

Warm welcome to TK Princewill

Super excited to welcome TK Princewill to the Catalyst team as a new community manager from Nigeria, Africa. Catalyst has been making some waves and we're trying to keep up with everything that's happening.

TK will be working closely with me on governance team and IOG community team at large to help spread the message to the world - especially in the African continent to foster adoption and understanding. TK loves music & loves to share it with others. He also writes a tech blog in his free time.

Catch our intro (timestamped) with TK from our last town hall earlier this week where I introduced him to you all. Give TK a follow on twitter and don't miss a beat - don't be shy to talk to him.

Welcome aboard TK!
