On Wednesday, Loyola University Maryland named Terrence M. Sawyer, J.D. as its next president. He currently serves as Loyola's senior vice president and will begin his tenure on January 1, 2022. President-elect Sawyer is an alumnus of the Ignatian Colleagues Program and previously served Loyola in multiple roles through advancement and administration. Holy Cross & Xavier University to Host Inaugurations
Today marks the beginning of an exciting week in Jesuit higher education! This afternoon, the College of the Holy Cross will inaugurate Vincent D. Rougeau, J.D. (below left) as its 33rd president. Click here to watch the livestream on YouTube at 3PM ET.

Rockhurst Enters Into Partnership with St. John's College
This week, Rockhurst University announced a new partnership with AJCU's first international member, St. John's College in Belize. Beginning in June 2022, up to ten St. John's students will be able to enroll in Rockhurst's doctoral program in education; clickhere to learn more.

Last Friday was a big day for Santa Clara University, which marked the dedication of the new John A. and Susan Sobrato Campus for Discovery and Innovation. More news: Fairfield University's Board of Trustees extended the contract for its president, Mark R. Nemec, Ph.D. through Summer 2027; Creighton University launched a $650M campaign, the largest in its history; Gonzaga University received a $5M gift to support student scholarships; and Boston College announced a gift intention to establish the first endowed chair in its School of Theology and Ministry.
Earlier this year, the AJCU network mourned the passing of Dr. Jonathan Smith (left), former vice president of diversity and community engagement at Saint Louis University.
