Family Conferences
Family conferences are coming up during the first week of November. This fall's conferences will be held virtually. We hope to return to in-person conferences in the spring. You should have received a sign up sheet from your child's teacher. If you have not, please reach out to them. Also, if your family has trouble with connectivity or any other barrier that limits your ability to participate in a virtual conference, we are happy to work with you to make any needed accommodations.
Unity Week
DBS's annual celebration of community and anti-bullying will take place during the week of October 25. During this week, students increase their knowledge of what bullying looks like and how to be an up-stander. This learning will take place in the classroom, with Ms. Ela and during related arts.
Friday is Unity Day! On Unity Day children are encouraged to wear orange to show that we are united against bullying. We will end the day with an anti-bullying protest. The protest will run from 2:00 to 2:15. Families are encouraged to drive by and show to show their support.
Need to refresh your home library? You'll find the best new books at our online Scholastic Book Fair! From November 1st - November 14th, shop the book fair to help build your child's love of reading and to support our school!
Bike Club Dear DBS 2nd - 5th grade families,
We are excited to share that Bike Week will happen in October this year! (Oct. 25th- Nov. 5th)
The Bike Smart trailer will be visiting our school for TWO WEEKS. This program brings around 30- 40 bikes (of all sizes), helmets, and bike skills training materials to our school at no charge. Your child will improve their bike skills through games and on-bike activities designed to help them become a safe and confident bike rider.
