Invitation to volunteer at the SHPE South East Texas Sub-Regional Retreat

Hola Familia!

On behalf of the SHPE Houston Professional Chapter we invite you on Saturday, October 30th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm to the Fall 2021 SHPE Texas South East Sub-Regional Retreat. This event is to help students from schools like Rice University, University of Houston, and Texas A&M prepare for the SHPE National Convention.
The event will take place in-person on the Rice University campus. There will be a limited capacity of up to 100 people in total. Masks are required indoors except when eating or drinking and 6 people per table will be assigned for social distancing.
There is a program overview document with further details on the agenda and the expectations for the professionals volunteering is shown below. The volunteering commitment is 3 hours (11 am - 2 pm) to help with the following:- Speak about your SHPE National Convention Experience & Advice
- Help with Elevator Pitches
- Be a Mentor during the MentorSHPE Roundtable
- Case Study Competition Mentor
This is a great opportunity for students to prepare for the workforce and network with professionals. We would love to have you help us at the event in order to provide professional development support. Would you be interested in supporting the retreat by volunteering in our program event?
