Dear Valencia Families,
Just a few important dates and announcements for you:
NO SCHOOL TODAY:NOVEMBER 11TH in observance of Veterans Day!
ALL NEXT WEEK: Parent Conference Week – 11/15 - 11/19School Dismissal at 12:15 everyday. Please plan accordingly. There are some helpful links that contains a Parent Teacher Conference Checklist that parents may want to look over before their parent conference meeting.
Spirit Day- Next Friday, November 19th is DRESS AS A TWIN or as MULTIPLES with others DAY!. Everyone is encouraged to wear matching outfits with others.
A last reminder to 6th grade parents:
Please send in a copy of a baby picture of your 6th grader to be published in the school yearbook. The last day to turn in your baby picture is tomorrow, November 12th.
-The picture can be scanned and emailed tokimguiley23@gmail.com(please put the student's name in the subject line). All formats are okay EXCEPT .pdf
OR
-You can drop a picture off for the yearbook in the Main Office. Please include the student's name, and teacher so the photo can be returned. Thank you!
NO SCHOOL in observance of Thanksgiving from Wednesday, November 24th thru Friday, November 26th.
TOE-vember Sock Drive! Thank you to ALL who have already donated socks. Our goal is to collect 475 pairs of socks…one from each student at Valencia. We know we can do it! We have 19 days left before this event will end November 30th. Let's help others in our community cover their cold toes this TOE-vember~November!
It’s time for the annual Yearbook Cover Contest!
The Home and School Club invites our students to submit designs for our Yearbook Cover Design Contest. Any student may participate, and enter as many designs as they wish. Deadline for submission is December 3rd.
Good luck–your design can make you a Valencia star!
We want to capture the feeling of being back together in school again so we have titled this year’s theme “Better Back Together ~ Onward, Upward, Forward”.
If you would like to participate, please submit your design, front and back, to the Main Office between now through December 3rd. Any student may participate, and enter as many designs as they wish.
Contest Rules:
1. All submissions must be on 8 ½ x 11 white paper.
2. Have two separate pieces of paper – one for the front cover and one for the back cover. The picture must be drawn vertically.
3. Incorporate the school’s core values “respect, responsibility, kindness, best effort” and include our mascot, the Seastar.
4. Have the year 2021_2022 in the picture
5. Write the child’s name, grade, and teacher on the back.

Lifetouch Picture has partnered with Valencia Elementary. Did you know that if you shop at Shutterfly or Tiny Prints at VALENCIAELEMENTARY.SHUTTERFLYSTOREFRONT.COM, 8% of the purchase will be donated to our school? Another great way to give back to Valencia!
Valencia will continue on-campus Surveillance and Exposure Non-Symptomatic Testing with Inspire Diagnostics next week. Our weekly testing days are Mondays and Thursdays. If you haven't done so already please register your student(s) and give consent for testing and complete the Google Form that notes the test(s) you are consenting for (surveillance, exposure, or both).
