Draft Local Planning Policy 33 - Tree Retention

Comments extended 5pm, Monday 20 December 2021

The City of Kalamunda has adopted a Draft Local Planning Policy 33 - Tree Retention (LPP 33) for public comment.

The preparation of LPP 33 has been identified as a key initiative throughout the City’s strategic environmental framework, including the Kalamunda Clean and Green: Local Environment Strategy 2019 – 2029 and Environmental Land Use Planning Strategy.

The purpose of LPP33 is to carefully consider the need for the removal of trees and, where possible, minimise the removal of trees of a particular size and maturity through the planning and development process. LPP33 also seeks, where practical, to increase canopy cover with replanting provisions.

The City is now seeking written submissions on the draft LPP 33. The submissions will be considered prior to making modifications and consideration of the LPP 33 for final adoption.

The draft policy and supporting documentation is available for consideration via the document library.

Alternatively, the documentation can be viewed at the City of Kalamunda Administration Centre located at 2 Railway Road, Kalamunda during office during business hours.
