EuroClio recently joined forces with the National Committee of Russian Historians in co-organising the 1st World Congress of School History Teachers. The Congress, which took place in Moscow 4-7 October, brought together more than 300 history teachers from around the world to discuss both thematic and methodological issues of history education. EuroClio is pleased to launch the Sharing European Histories online self-guided course taking place from 18 November - 16 December. The course will consist of five Recorded Sessions and three Live Reflection Sessions. During the 30-minute Recorded Sessions, experts will guide viewers through a lesson plan specifically designed using each of the five teaching strategies which were developed as part of the Sharing European Histories project. The Live Reflection Sessions will provide the perfect opportunity to meet with the authors of the strategies!

The goal of EuroClio's latest project is to enable young people to gain a deeper understanding of the roots of discrimination in the present by researching the victims of National Socialists. To achieve this, we will design, develop, and test local youth-empowered history projects around the key question “Who were the victims of the National Socialists?” in six countries. This will be done by an interdisciplinary cross-border team of history educators, specialists in the history of National Socialism, and museum educators in close cooperation with youth and community members.
The project is supported as part of the Education Agenda NS-Injustice, an initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Finance and the EVZ Foundation in response to the worrying increase in antisemitism, antigypsyism, racism and LGBTQI hostility.
