Cornell Star Students ✨

This work would not be possible without a devoted group of students helping to organize and process nest records, digitize cards, and build Zooniverse projects. A special thank you to each of these students for their hard work and attention to detail.

Nest records for these winter favorites are now available in Zooniverse! While not closely related, both of these birds frequently forage for fruit and nuts in North America's coniferous forests, and their nests are often found in the upper canopy of their favorite trees.

Mourning Doves

Together we plowed through this collection. We transcribed 11,768 cards in only four months! Hats off to the continued devotion of so many volunteers who are helping to bring this data to life for future research.

Purple Martins are Coming...

Just in time for the Purple Martin Conservation Association's quarterly publication, we will be launching this small project. These beautiful birds are becoming more scarce in parts of their range and we hope the more than 700 nest records will help researchers better understand the historical nesting pressures that affected this species.
