From the desk of Pastor David

On Thursday, I have the privilege of attending a one-day prayer summit for pastors and ministry leaders across the city. I attended my first prayer summit two years ago (before the world shut down). I’m thrilled for the opportunity to pray face to face again with spiritual leaders across our city. We’ll pray for each other, our city, and for God to be glorified in us as we work together to make disciples in Tucson.

Our directors are voting this week on a children’s director to oversee Oasis Kids. We’ll share more information next week. We’re still looking to hire a part-time worship leader before the end of the year. The worship leader will oversee our worship teams, planning, and Sunday morning service. Please pray for us as we look to fill this key role at Oasis!

Oasis will host a Texas Hold’em tournament on Saturday, December 4 at 7:00pm at the Oasis office (9571 E Paseo San Bernardo). The cost to enter is $20, with an opportunity to buy back in at $10. The winner gets to keep the trophy for a quarter and all proceeds help send youth to summer camp.

Mark your calendars now for our annual Christmas party on Friday, December 10, at 6:00pm in Empire High School. This year, Oasis will provide honey-glazed ham and turkey so you can bring sides and desserts. We’ll also raffle off Christmas baskets donated by our home churches and play games for prizes. After dinner, we’ll host a brief business meeting to approve a budget and directors for 2022. To register and for more information on what to bring, go here.

On Sunday, we continued our series, Job: How to Suffer Well, with a message from chapters 22 – 27 on Our Suffering and God’s Inaction. We’ll continue this Sunday with a message from Job 28. If you missed a message, you’ll find it here.

I hope you have a wonderful week. I love serving as your pastor!

If you aren't currently serving on a team, please consider joining our Sign Team. Members of the sign team volunteer on a rotating basis to place road signs around the area on the weekends, inviting our neighbors to join us for worship. We'll provide all the training you need and it's easier than you think. If you're interested, please contact Faith at gaineyf0@gmail.com.

*Though it doesn't apply to the sign team, we have nursery workers available on Sundays from 7:30am, so you can bring your small children with you when you serve!

One of our sister churches is East Tucson Baptist Church, led by our friend, John Anderson.

Pastor John: "We're having an "OK" year, not great, but OK. Our finances are very good but attendance still lacking. I'm praying that as we end this year we'll began to dream about ministry opportunities for the coming year. We've been in working through the "Who's Your One" campaign with mixed results. We have had new people attending, added about five new members and baptized one with four more very close to making a decision/commitment. I'm hoping Thanksgiving and Christmas will be very good for them and us. I'm praying and looking for a church (or group) to come to our Christmas banquet on December 12 to provide a presentation for our us."

Thank you for praying for our friends!

Our mission is to care for broken people so they learn to care for others through Jesus Christ.

Nando & Jaxon enjoy Fall festivities

We're a network of home churches committed to reproduce leaders for the Kingdom of God.
