SUMMER INTERNSHIPS AND UNDERGRADUATE PEDIATRIC RESEARCH EXPERIENCES
|
|
|
CHOP provides opportunities for undergraduate students of all backgrounds to gain hands-on research experience that will propel them into careers in laboratory and clinical research. Learn more below.
- The CHOP Research Institute Summer Scholars Program (CRISSP) is a formal, competitive internship designed to provide undergraduate students with theoretical knowledge, practical training in academic research, and critical exposure to pediatric-focused career trajectories under the direct mentorship of CHOP faculty. Full-time immersion in a lab or research group allows interns to experience science and discovery firsthand. There is a $5,000 stipend and free housing! Applications for 2022 will open soon.
- The Center for Injury Research and Prevention (CIRP) at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia partners with the University of Pennsylvania to host the Injury Science Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program, a 10-week paid summer research internships for undergraduate students. CIRP is a leading multidisciplinary center engaged in collaborative cross-discipline research implementing real-world applications. Applications open December 14.
- The Pediatric Center of Excellence in Nephrology (PCEN) recently opened applications for its 2022 Summer Research Scholars Program. This program aims to inspire future leaders in pediatric kidney disease research by engaging students in meaningful research and clinical experiences in pediatric nephrology. Applications close December 3.

Postdoctoral fellows come to Children’s Hospital from diverse backgrounds and from both U.S. and international institutions, bringing with them varied perspectives and skills to support a successful research training experience.
