"What’s New This Week"

**no weight bearing in the knees this week

  • Mudra:  Shakata = Vehicle --we can think of this mudra and really any mudra as using the body position of a mudra to function as a vehicle of transformation of breath and thus energy. Explore how you feel and how you breath within certain mudras and body positions in general
 
  • Breath: breath awareness in the moment as it changes within a body position, as well as in mudras
 
  • Bonus: "Step-On, Step-Over Balance"  7min practice, No equipment needed--but x1 yoga block if desired.  Practice these simple moves to work on your balance and foot placement. 
 
  • Chair Yoga: "Traditional Warrior Flow for Strength & Balance" Move into strength in standing poses like:
    • Warrior II
    • Peaceful Warrior
    • Triangle
    • Then balance it out in some Balance Beam walks and Stepping Overs

 
  • Light Weights Practice: "Core & Gluts"  Work on the core in supine and sidelying so we can translate it into standing balance movements and upper body work. 

     
  • Therapeutic Yoga: "Tree Pose Variations for Posture"  Let's dive in, creating movement in the hips along the lines of Tree Pose.  Add in some great posture movements to support your upper back and keep you standing tall.
