November E-News

Greetings CFMA!

During this pandemic, in a world of physical distancing and uncertainty, I’ve been trying to find different ways to connect with people. One of the things I’ve done is instead of just asking “how are you?” is ask, “tell me a high and a low” (Obviously, you may feel comfortable doing this with some people and not others).

I thought I would just share a few of mine. On the highs, here in Denver fall has been amazing. Normally we’d get a first frost much earlier, but this year the weather has changed more steadily. While I definitely hope for snow, I also enjoyed this time and made a point to go outside every day to see the gold and occasional bright red leaves.

On a low, I’ve been struggling with my sleep. I was reading about a new term, “Revenge Bedtime Procrastination”, where you have so much during your day, so you procrastinate going to bed because it’s the one time you have some freedom and control, when nobody’s needing you. I just might have that (and I know, some people just wake up early instead. I envy you!)

2021 has been a year, hasn’t it? Full of new stresses and old stresses. As the holiday season is approaching us, a reminder for us to catch a breath, I encourage you to take some time to connect - connect with your immediate loved ones, your community, and just as importantly, yourself.

Although we’re in different locations and contexts, I’m so glad that we’re connected through this work - Making our communities better, supporting local farms and businesses, creating a space for life to happen. 2021 has had many lows, but it’s also had many highs, and one of those highs for Rosalind, myself, and the board has been working with and getting to know amazing people like you.

We’re so glad to be partnering together with you, and we’re excited to grow and build that partnership even more as we move forward towards 2022!

Thanks,

David

Social Media Post Ideas for November
As we transition into the fall and winter, we still recommend that you post regularly. If you're open for the winter, this definitely makes sense, and even if you are closing for the season, it's still helpful to post regularly (you'll reap the benefits of this when your season starts).

Sure, you may decide to slow down a little (instead of posting 3x a week, post 1x a week). What's a reasonable goal you can reach to post consistently?

To help, here are just a few post ideas for November:

1. November Holidays / Notable Days: A few days to note, National American Indian Heritage Month (whole month of November), World Kindness Day (11/13), National Children's Day (11/20), National Espresso Day (11/23), Thanksgiving (11/25), Black Friday (11/26), Small Business Saturday (11/27). If you have pictures, post them, or if you can find a simple template/graphic on Canva, that would be great, too.

2. Fall produce! There's still a lot in November. Take a few pictures and let people know how abundant Colorado is in the fall.

3. Ask a question! What's your favorite fall drink/recipe/activity?

4. Start promoting winter markets / CSA's / special events. Start teasing some things that will happen this winter. Highlight a farm, vendor or guest. Start getting people excited.
